The Vivvi community is excited to announce Ashley Gomez as one of our first faculty members for our flagship campus at 75 Varick Street. Ashley joins Lynne and Navita, and the growing list of new faculty who are taking the vision behind our inquiry-based model and bringing it to reality.
Ashley joins Vivvi as a Head Teacher in our Preschool program, bringing rich experience working with preschool and early elementary aged children. She is currently an Assistant Teacher at Grace Church School in Brooklyn. Prior she was a lead teacher at Creative Academy, a program with a similar schedule and philosophy to Vivvi. Ashley is passionate about the early childhood ecosystem in NYC and has student taught and worked in Kindergarten and 2nd grade classrooms from Brooklyn to the Bronx. Before entering the classroom, Ashley was a Foster Care Case Manager with the Jewish Child Care Association for 3 years where she coordinated care between foster parents and schools on behalf of the children under her purview. Ashley holds a BA in Psychology from George Washington University and is soon to complete her Masters from Bank Street College of Education.
In her spare time, Ashley practices aerial hoop and has even performed showcases at her local yoga studio. She always loves to try new things on the fitness side and has done silks, trapeze, aquacycling, and soca dance classes. Ashley enjoys acrylic painting and will bring this skill into her classroom. The painting in our blog was completed by her friend Melissa.
A huge welcome to Ashley!
